Job Description

 

Walker Windows is a window and door contractor looking for a Project Manager to join our Project Management team. We are looking for experienced individuals who can adapt, learn and grow. We offer great benefits such as medical, 401K and paid time off.

Under the direct supervision of the Senior Project Manager, this position directly oversees and manages all aspects of assigned projects while leading the team members assigned to their project(s) to ensure all project management activities are effectively performed while demonstrating and instilling company values.

Responsibilities:

  • Follows direction and exercises sound judgment and decision making while working independently or with other team members
  • Attendance, reliability, and punctuality are essential in this role
  • Develops relationships with vendors while expanding the understanding of products offered
  • Communicates directly with customers, manufacturers, and team members to ensure project costs, scheduling, and staffing are upheld and all products adhere to specifications
  • Accountable for project KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators) to drive safety, quality, and productivity while adhering to project budgets, deadlines, and company policies
  • Must be detailed and process-oriented and have a strong understanding of general construction practices and building codes affecting window and door installation
  • Responsible for identifying and addressing issues and/or errors to ensure swift resolution
  • Accountable for the training and completion of all documentation such as RFI’s, submittals, closeout documentation, change orders, estimates, quality control, and delivery forms, installation maps, and any additional project-specific paperwork necessary for successful project completion while adhering to company policies and procedures
  • Responsible for the maintenance and understanding of all contract documents, plans, specifications, reports, takeoffs, product information, installation details, or any additional information pertaining to the project to ensure timely and successful project completion
  • Responsible for the detailed ordering, scheduling, and confirmation of all materials needed to fulfill contractual and project obligations and the associated documentation
  • Project owner who sets deadlines assigns responsibilities and monitors progress of concurrent projects while preparing project status reports for management
  • Oversees and ensures all requests and issues are tracked and brought to a successful resolution
  • Accountable for effective communication of project scheduling and scheduling revisions through logs, schedules, and other methods necessary for entire team visibility
  • Works directly with other departments to ensure any inventories are maintained
  • Attends Jobsite meetings to ensure customer satisfaction and project engagement
  • Direct and lead the work of Project Coordinator(s) and Assistant Project Managers while providing mentorship with ongoing constructive feedback of work performance
  • Inspires others and strives to lead by example while promoting teamwork and accountability
  • Exhibits discretion and initiative

Qualification Requirements:

  • Valid California Driver License with clean driving record and transportation to/from work
  • Basic understanding of construction and construction sites with strong safety awareness
  • Patient and positive attitude with the ability to adapt to changing environments
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail
  • Experience and ability to problem solve and complete necessary paperwork or reporting
  • Proven ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment
  • General Business, Accounting, Human Resource, and Customer Service knowledge to solve complex problems and make ethical and team-oriented decisions
  • 4 to 7 years of project management and leadership experience with the ability to train and delegate
  • Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills with proven ability to prioritize in a fast-paced work environment
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Software with Intermediate Excel skills and willingness and ability to learn other programs
  • Knowledge of windows and doors with the understanding of the rules and reports which govern fenestration products
  • Consistently demonstrates integrity, teamwork, and an ever-forward attitude
