FRENCHIFORNIA Pasadena, the Authentic French Pastry, is seeking for 2 Cashiers/Kitchen Assistants to join our new dynamic team.

You will work on a team that is built on mutual respect, collaboration and passion for providing the excellence to our guests.

This is a new and growing shop offering the assistant learning opportunities in the baking, the customer service space and in your professional growth with the company.

The Kitchen Assistant/Cashier’s primary responsibility is to work with a strong job ethic and flexible working hours in a fast-paced environment. Must have kitchen and food prep experience and loves working with food. Must have California’s food certificate card.

The right candidate for this position will be friendly, personable, responsible, be able to transition smoothly and independently from task to task while helping guests, and have an interest in French Pastries and Culture. Associates are expected to provide customers with a level of service beyond the customer's expectation, while showing sensitivity to their individual needs. Make a memorable connection and commit to making each guest's experience the best Teamwork, follow direction and work together with the store management team to deliver outstanding service; to create an pleasant work atmosphere, for both your fellow employees and the customers.

Shift responsibilities include:

-Taking orders from guests as well as special orders for cakes and deliveries.

-Maintaining coffee, tea and cold beverage stock for service

-Cash handling, CC transaction on POS system

-Cleaning and organizing the front counter area, coffee station, and dining area

-Keeping the display cases clean, organized, and properly signed

-Opening or closing down the bakery, depending on the shift

-Maintaining a professional relationship with customers and staff

-Basic preparation and assistance in the production of pastry and sandwiches.

Applicants must be able to work with a flexible schedule including early morning, weekend and holiday. To compensate, 2 consecutive days off and every other weekend free.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

-Education: High school education, cooking school or culinary institute education or equivalent experience. 

-Experience: Minimum 1 year culinary or related work experience. Basic culinary knowledge is expected for this position. Working knowledge is generally learned on-the-job. 

-Skills and Abilities: Ability to operate, maintain and properly clean.

-Speaking, writing and reading English is required. Speaking French is appreciated. Culinary Diploma is recommended.
