This is an essential position requiring the individual to provide continuous quality service to our customers. In addition, the individual will be working in a dual role. Being flexible and having the ability to multi-task while providing a high level of attention to detail and customer service. The individual is also expected to demonstrate logistical ability in managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, where meeting deadlines and commitments are crucial. Communications is a priority on order details, routes, and pricing, etc.  

Responsibilities

We are looking for a Dispatcher-Customer Service Agent who has the ability to multi-task while providing a high level of attention to detail. Experience in providing outstanding customer service is a must. With our Company’s rapid and consistent growth based on working performance, the Dispatcher – Customer Service Agent could grow into other roles within the next 12 to 24 months. We have a great culture and provide opportunities for talented customer-focused people.

 

The Dispatcher - Customer Service Agent is also expected to demonstrate logistical ability in managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, where meeting timelines and commitments are crucial. Communications is a priority on order details, routes, and pricing, etc. This is an hourly position with the expectation that the candidate is flexible with their scheduling.

 

The Dispatcher - Customer Service Agent (Full-Time) must be able to:

  • Provide outstanding customer service and interact with our clients, including communicating problems and updates as needed
  • Working flexible hours/scheduled shifts including nights, weekends and some holidays
  • Receive emergency and non-emergency calls and record significant information
  • Address problems and requests by transmitting information or providing solutions
  • Receive and dispatch orders for products or deliveries
  • Prioritize calls according to urgency and importance
  • Interact with drivers via phone or two-way radio to communicate special instructions
  • Solve the "logistical" challenges of meeting our client’s delivery needs by understanding the geography and driving conditions of our area
  • Utilize courier software program to effectively monitor courier drivers throughout all markets, enter customer orders, electronically dispatching drivers, keying in data pertaining to an order (such as waiting time, etc.) and closing out orders
  • Work in a fast-paced environment that may require multi-tasking and independent judgment
  • Pull parts in a warehouse environment for deliveries or shipments. Must have the ability to occasionally lift 50-70 pounds. May occasionally climb a step ladder

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, the Dispatcher - Customer Service Agent must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Qualifications:

  • Must be truly passionate about customer service and have previous Customer Service (food service/retail), Dispatcher and/or Call Center Representative experience
  • Willingness to work some nights, weekends and holidays 
  • Have stability in regard to job history
  • Have a proven track record for good attendance and punctuality
  • Possess a Valid Virginia Driver’s License and clean driving record 
  • Be at least 23 years of age (for insurance purposes)

 

Education and/or Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED. Prior Dispatch Experience Preferred 
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs 
  • Basic computer skills
  • Familiarity with keyboard required
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form

Compensation

$12 - $14 per hour
