If you have a passion for making a positive change in your community, Lutheran Services in Iowa is looking for you. LSI's Beloit Residential Treatment Center in Ames is looking for a compassionate, dedicated part-time Residential Nurse to make an impact in the lives of some of Iowa's most vulnerable kids. Many of the children we serve have experienced trauma or adverse experiences. It's our job and our privilege to empower them toward success.

Duties

Our Residential Nurse directly interacts with children on our campus each day. Along with coordinating the residential program's health care and medical services, this role is responsible for:

- Monitoring children's health care and medical needs

- Immunizations

- Setting up and tracking medical appointments

- Overseeing medication administration

- Monitoring funding sources for resident care (Title XIX, Merit, or IFMC)

This role typically involves a Monday to Friday schedule, with occasional evening and weekend assessments. Shares on-call rotation.

Qualifications

Candidates must be graduates of an accredited school of nursing, with a current Iowa license as an LPN or registered nurse (RN). Our Residential Nurse must also remain current with CPR certification, and must have one year of acute care experience. One year of general experience or specialized training in the treatment of severe emotional or behavioral health is preferred.

This position requires a valid driver's license, auto insurance, a good driving record, and the ability to pass an extensive background check, including checks of the Dependent Adult and Child Abuse registries, the Sex Offender registry, and the criminal history check.
