Concrete Finisher (Commercial Construction)

Job Summary:

Responsible for smoothing out, leveling and finishing freshly poured concrete at job or construction sites.

Responsibilities:

• Operate power construction equipment.(i.e. riding trowel machines, walk-behind trowel machines, concrete buggies and vibratory screeds)
• Set the forms that hold concrete to the desired pitch and depth and align them.
• Spread, level and smooth concrete, using rake, shovel, hand or power trowel, hand or power screed, and float.
• Mold expansion joints and edges, using edging tools, jointer, and straightedge.
• Signal truck driver to position truck to facilitate pouring concrete and move chute to direct concrete driver.
• Assist construction/paving crew with various duties such as; shoveling and raking, running wheelbarrow, safely dumping trucks.
• Signal operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment, movement, and materials with shovel.
• Lifts, carries and holds material, tools and supplies.
• Place concrete into forms and finish according to specified textures Vibrate, level, smooth, and shape surface of concrete
• Remove rough or defective spots from concrete surfaces using power grinder or chisel and hammer. Patch holes with fresh concrete or epoxy compound.

Requirements:

• Motivated and self-disciplined
• Ability to work both independently and in a team setting
• Reliable and punctual
• Previous experience in the commercial construction industry preferred.
