Job Description
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
Vascular Access Registered Nurse is responsible for planning, organizing and evaluating patient care interventions and their effect on outcome. The Vascular Access Nurse must demonstrate critical thinking skills, scientific judgment and leadership in the anticipation, planning, coordination and provision of care for the patient while planning vascular access selection and insertion of ultrasound guided PIV, Extended Dwell, Midline, and Peripherally Inserted Central Catheters. The Vascular Access Nurse will work in collaboration with nursing department in accordance with hospital/department policies.
Qualifications:
MANDATORY:
- Current CA RN license & BLS card.
- Knowledge of computers and programs
- Completion of PICC line insertion course, and also knowledgeable to insert Midlines.
- Completion of yearly supplemental competency validation
- Completion of 5 CEU's yearly related to vascular access
