GENERAL SUMMARY Provides leadership and supervision for the Commercial Loan Servicing Staff and all functions within the Commercial Loan Servicing group. Ensures smooth department operations for servicing all commercial loan products including but not limited to booking, payment and advance processing, participation loan transactions, payoff requests, billing and general core system maintenance. Supports the goals of the Bank and department. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Management of Commercial Loan Servicing staff and all daily functions performed by the group. Maintain the loan portfolio in the core banking system (FIS) and to ensure accurate and compliant servicing. Maintains and services a loan portfolio of approximately $11 billion by managing the timely accounting and servicing (booking through pay-off) of all commercial loans (new and renewals; commercial, international, real estate, participation; SBA, etc.). Evaluate and develop process improvement, deployment of automation and efficiency in the support of Department initiatives. Work with Bank stakeholders to evaluate and implement initiatives and efficiencies in support of the Bank’s strategic directives. Ensure staff is trained and on all daily commercial loan system and general ledger input to ensure commercial loan system integrity. Provide cross training on department functions to increase staff skillset and knowledge in support of staff promotion, transfers or absences. Manage risk by establishing and maintaining effective quality assurance processes to ensure high quality loan portfolio Analyze processes and workflows to enhance efficiencies, timeliness, and appropriate segregation of duties. Designs solutions and implements changes to increase the efficiency and workflow. Creation and on-going maintenance of departmental policies and procedures, including adherence by staff. Direct and ensure compliance with various regulatory, investor, governmental, and corporate requirements Ensure exceptional internal and external quality customer service Participate in compliance, auditing, and other related enterprise-wide initiatives Establish and maintain service level standards for team with metric reporting and accountability measures. Coordinate all business disaster recovery functions Liaison with Core Vendor on system functionality, enhancements Provides bank-wide guidance and training to all lending staff to increase knowledge of proper and standard loan accounting. Provide department scorecard and management reports. Communicates clearly and effectively with all levels of positions (subordinates through senior managers). Participates in development of new loan products, software review, and special projects including mergers with other banks and conversion of loan data and processes. QUALIFICATIONS A BS or BA degree from an accredited University preferred. Minimum 7 to 10 years of experience managing a commercial loan servicing department at a mid-size or large lending institution. Extensive background of all aspects of commercial loan servicing. Hands-on experience of a windows-based loan accounting system. Experience with FIS IBS Insight and loan accounting systems preferable but not required. Strong leadership and staff management skills including performance management and setting of job requirements and expectations. Strong knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements for proper loan accounting and understanding of applicable California and Federal law and regulations pertaining to loan operations. Ability to manage, prioritize, plan, and develop strategic plans for the department. Demonstrated project management, organizational and analytical skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong customer service skills; strong personal attributes to complete goals and resolve issues in a competitive and changing environment. Highly proficient in all of Microsoft Office Suite.
