20-200AGRICULTURAL WORKER X32, TOPPENISH, WAPATO H-2A This is an H-2A job order for Agricultural Workers. This H-2A job opportunity is limited to qualified, available workers that are currently eligible to work in the United States, per federal regulation. This application encompasses raising, growing and harvest of apples, grapes and hops as well as pruning, trainingand other orchard and hop farm labor. Planting, training and weeding hops,hop trellis work, picking up downed hop lines, flush drip irrigation lines, spread drip irrigation tubes.Operate or maintain equipment such as tractors, irrigation equipment, 4-wheelers, trucks, and other commonly used equipment. Operate tractors to mow, weed spray and move bin/tote trailers. Load and mix chemicals, in addition to operating tractors pulling air blast sprayers. Hop harvest Hop Vine Unloader/Hanger: unloading hop trucks at a stationary picking machine; transfer the vines from the truck bed to the picking apparatus. Hop Vine Truck Driver/Unloader: driving hop vine truck while loading and transport to the harvesting machine; assist in unloading the truck by hand. Bailing Hops Apples and Grapes Hand thinning trees to control size and quality of fruit Pruning trees and grape vines Training apples and grapes to limb/vine tying, trellis tying or clipping limbs/vine to wire Hand harvesting apples from the ground or from a ladder Hand harvesting grapes; operate the grape harvesting machine; examine harvested fruit and sort out ay fruit not meeting grade, color and size standards Orchards: Weeding, hoeing, trunk painting, hand fertilizing and growth selection. Provide general labor, clearing property, planting trees, building trellis, repair and spreading of composted material.Caring for trees, monitoring tree disease, harvest preparation including spreading liners in bins and rolling bins into blocks by hand. Repairing sprinklers on overhead cooling systems, loading and unloading empty bins, sorting fruit during harvest and verifying quality of fruit. Farm clean up tasks to include picking up garbage around the orchard, removing old string/ wire from trellis/ orchard blocks, operating farm machinery and/ or motorized vehicles to assist in orchard work and transporting fruit, materials, supplies and workers.Maintenance tasks for farm machinery, spraying fruit trees, innstall/uninstall reflective mulch, material and shade cloth, bin repair. Verify bin count and numbers. The employer will furnish, without charge, all tools, supplies and personal protective equipment required in the performance of the specified work. Employer provided housing/kitchen facilities are available for employees who are unable to reasonably return to their place of residence the same day. Transportation costs to the job site for domestic workers from outside the local commuting distance of the job site will be reimbursed by the employer after 50% of the contract period. In order to comply with the FLSA, the employer will advance any amount owed prior to the first paycheck. Workers who do not complete 50% of the contract will have the advance deducted from their final paycheck. Transportation costs from the job site to the workers home will be provided to those domestic workers that complete the entire contract period. Employer guarantees to offer employment for the hourly equivalent of 3/4 or 75% of the workdays of the work contract beginning with the first day of work.
