Factory Service Technician  Job Description

Business Need / Purpose of Role:

The Factory Service Technician is the lead person at the Trillium Specialty Pumps Service Center in Salt lake City, Utah, and is responsible for repair of all Trillium Specialty Pumps and receives and processes customer orders. The success in this position will assists in the increase of revenue and profitability.

Objectives & Measurement

  • Repair pumps at the Salt Lake City Service Center.
  • Must be able to disassemble/assembly all production models manufactured by Trillium Specialty Pumps and evaluate parts for wear and possible reusability. Crate evaluation report which will give detailed information on possible failure mode and recommendation on correcting the problem.
  • Pump repair –requires ability to understand principles of operation of pumps and systems to determine cause of failure.
  • Evaluate and determine corrective action and cause of failure on return parts from customer's and distributor's through the AS 400 Return Material Authorization (RMA) system.
  • Perform clerical duties such as computer data entry, enter work orders/allocations, evaluation reports and filing that are required by the Service Center. These skills must be executed and maintained with a high level of accuracy/efficiency.
  • Develop training pumps that will be used to train Rep’s and Dist’s at the SLC Service Center Facility.
  • Required to work in other department as additional work load demand is needed.
  • Review and update assemble and disassembly manuals on all Trillium Specialty Pumps product as needed.
  • Control and maintain a small amount of inventory to support pumps that need quick turnaround time.

 

Job Knowledge / Education and Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:  

 

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

The ability to perform the following:

 

  • Calculate optimum spindle speed and feed rates for specific machine functions and Repair all pump models manufactured by Trillium Specialty Pumps at the SLC Service Center.
  • Must be a "self-starter" and intuitive in recognizing and prioritizing daily requirements and duties without supervision.
  • Teardown, evaluate, quote and re-assemble pumps in a timely manner
  • Provide field service support when necessary with on-site system repairs, evaluation and technical support on WSP products
  • Must always be receptive and responsive to all customer's and distributor's requests and flexible to a variety of demands.
  • Required to work in other departments to assist with work load (example: rework show pumps, assist in the promotional department and any additional needs that improves our customer service).
  • Internal relationships exist within all functional department staff.
  • External relationships exist with supplies/vendors, customer, other Trillium companies and domestic standards origins.
  • Achieve or exceed budgeted Output and PBIT objectives
  • Team work and cooperation with the company and service team, as well as other Trillium Group companies.
  • Achievement of Personal Business Objectives
