Electrical and Service Technician

We are seeking an Electrical And Service Technician to join our team! You will maintain and repair industrial production and processing machinery.

Responsibilities:

• Install and repair electrical equipment and fixtures (up to 480V, 1-3 phase)
• Troubleshoot motor and control systems
• Perform routine maintenance on electrical wiring and systems
• Troubleshoot and repair defective equipment
• Perform routine preventative maintenance
• Respond to work order requests in a timely fashion
• Adhere to all quality and safety codes and procedures

​Qualifications:

• MINIMUM 3 years of experience in industrial maintenance or other related fields
• Familiarity with electrical schematics, blueprints, and manuals
• Familiarity with electrical and industrial equipment and hand tools
• Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Ability to handle physical workload
• Ability to operate manlift, scissor lift, forklift
• Must be fluent in English
• Valid Driver's license
• Other Qualifications Preferred but not required:
  • Journeyman electrician's license
  • Rigging experience
  • Overhead material handling experience

Other:

• ​This is a 1st shift hourly position with some overtime required.
• Working weekends is only required in rare exceptions.
• Travel ranges from 0%-100% to Iowa and surrounding states for on-site customer service.
• Company-provided vehicle, phone and credit card for travel.
• Ability to work off-shift and overnight stays when required (<10%).
• At AFE Crane, technicians spend most of their time in the Cedar Falls shop wiring overhead bridge cranes and performing maintenance in the factory and on various machines.
• Candidate must be a self-starter and be able to work independently and professionally without a high level of direct supervision.
• We are flexible on granting time off for personal reasons. Employees are expected to arrive promptly to work and communicate any need for time off in advance.
• Employees are eligible for insurance and 401K after 60 days.
• Payroll is done weekly.
