Job summary: 

We are looking for a passionate and energetic newsroom leader who will direct daily news content decisions with a producer-like mentality. Candidate must have an eye for looking beyond the press releases or breaking news stories and finding the how and why questions that will elevate news coverage. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 - Candidate will be innovative, willing to try new ways of gathering and disseminating content and doesn’t like the words “impossible,” or “can’t.”
 -  The Assistant News Director will also help the News Director implement new strategies that speak to the TV6 brand and seize big opportunities within the community when it comes to news coverage. 
 -  When the News Director is away, the Assistant ND is the go-to decision-maker. 
 -  Finally, the Assistant ND is proactive in developing reporters, producers and anchors and isn’t afraid to have tough, contentious conversations about ethical decisions within our newsroom. 

Requirements

A college degree or several years in journalism, broadcasting or related field.  Experience as a reporter, producer, anchor is a must. Must have flexibility in schedule. Must have a valid drivers’ license and be insurable.
