WTOK-TV, a Gray television station, is seeking a Meteorologist for the dominant number one station in East Mississippi and West Alabama.  We are looking for a knowledgeable forecaster, compelling storyteller and team player to continue the trust our viewers have placed in Storm Team 11 in everyday and breaking weather situations.  The ideal candidate will have a comfortable, on-air appearance and be able to break down complex weather situations in easy-to-understand broadcast, online weathercasts. Job Summary: 

WTOK-TV, a Gray television station, is seeking a Meteorologist for the dominant number one station in East Mississippi and West Alabama.  We are looking for a knowledgeable forecaster, compelling storyteller and team player to continue the trust our viewers have placed in Storm Team 11 in everyday and breaking weather situations.  The ideal candidate will have a comfortable, on-air appearance and be able to break down complex weather situations in easy-to-understand broadcast, online weathercasts. The candidate we’re looking for should also have a strong social media presence. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

-Analyze weather data and prepare detailed weather forecasts 
-Anchor the morning weather-casts 
-Fill-in anchor on other newscasts as needed 
-Conversational, on-air delivery 
-Write and online weather discussions for the general public in a way that explains complex weather phenomena in an easy-to-understand format
-Be actively involved on various, station sponsored social media platforms 
-Represent WTOK at community and station-sponsored events 
-Flexible schedule during severe weather situations 
-Work closely with news management and producers during severe weather situations 

-At least two-years on-air meteorology experience preferred
-An engaging and comfortable, on-air personality 
-Must be a team player
-Be able to communicate effectively on-air and with station management and staff
