PT Solidworks Drafter

Well established lighting company is seeking a Jr. engineering assistant to join their team. This is a PT opportunity, with the possibility of full time. 

 Duties include:

SolidWorks and Autodesk draftsman will use specialized computer-aided drafting software to create blueprints, drawings and 3D models for a variety of our production and products. These blueprints get used as technical guides during the manufacturing process with our vendors, so draftsman must include comprehensive details, such as materials, measurements and building procedures. During the drafting process you will collaborate with company’s product designers, graphic designer, and vendors to gather specifications and resolve design issues.

Requirements:

Expertise in the most recent version of SolidWorks. Drafters with artistic aptitude and strong communication skills. Drafters should also be able to work with in house engineers, architects, other design professionals and some vendors.

Education Requirements

Some formal education is mandatory. SolidWorks drafter must have at least an associate degree in drafting. Community colleges or technical institutes with 2-year programs, which focus on drafting design principles and practical application in the field. Courses may include computer-aided drafting, production processes, machinery, manufacturing materials, technical writing and SolidWorks design.

SolidWorks Certificate and Certification is a plus

SolidWorks drafters need to have extensive knowledge of the software they're using, design properties and strong communication skills so that they can ensure the companies needs are being met.
