CNC Set Up/Operator Level 6 - Full-time / Part-time

Partners Personnel is currently looking to fill a CNC Set Up/Operator Level 6 position for our Aerospace client located in the San Fernando Valley. The role is from 12pm to 8:30pm Monday thru Friday.

Job Description:

Independently operate both CNC mill and CNC lathes with minimal occasional assistance. Follow supervisor / lead verbal directions. Competent in completing set ups (including 5th axis operations). Able to adjust feed and speed to meet surface finish requirements, adjust tool offsets and/or CDC compensation in order to meet drawing requirements of +/-.0005. Able to inspect first piece article, read and understand programs. Competent in removing worn cutting tools, re-grinding to conform to drawing requirements, and replacing.

• Trains / Assists other team members on tasks as required;
• Performs regular manual tasks;
• Insures that output normally equals or exceed that expected;
• Keeps quality up to acceptable standards with little discrepant work;
• Performs tasks equal to or exceeding established standards;
• Working consistently, working overtime and traveling as required;
• Conducts himself/herself in a business-like and civil manner;
• Ability to react to change productively and perform other essential tasks assigned;
• May fill in for area lead as required

Skills and Requirements:
• Applicant must be ITAR compliant.
• Knowledge of various CNC lathe / mill machining including set-ups and programming fundamentals;
• Swiss machine knowledge and experience desired;
• Adequate manual dexterity to safely and proficiently perform pre-setups or set-ups of certain job operations on CNC lathes / mills;
• Must have, or obtain, first piece inspection stamp;
• Able to read and interpret drawings;
• Experience with, or demonstrated understanding of, machining process automation;
• Understands basics of machine shop / material planning;
• Ability to read, write and follow written and verbal instructions in English;
• Ability to work with a number sequence;
• Ability to work well with only a modest amount of repeated instructions;
• Be team oriented and possess flexibility and adaptability

Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds;
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time;
• Must be able to do repetitive motion, arms, wrists, elbows and shoulders;
