An award-winning Medical Center, acclaimed for its pediatric care throughout the Mid-West Great Plains area has an opening for a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner in their level IV 50- bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The hospital is nationally renowned and is home to some of the best physicians and medical staff in the country.
The NICU Nurse Practitioner works closely with the nursing staff and physicians in providing a continuum of care for neonate patients with birth defects, infections, respiratory distress or born prematurely. The Nurse Practitioner NICU collaborates with care managers and family members to implement plans of care before, during and after the hospital visit.
The Critical Care Neonatal Nurse Practitioner provides ongoing education to the nursing team regarding the critically ill infant’s condition, treatment plan and any complications. The 50-bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is staffed by neonatologists and over 20 advanced practice nurses 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Additionally, NNPs will have the support of dietitians, surgeons, nursing staff and more who are specially trained to care for the tiniest of babies.
The hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit cares for more than 600 babies per year and provides family suites with temperature controlled environments for infants and the latest advanced medical equipment.
