Event Sales and Business Development Manager works primarily to lead B2B sales initiatives. We are a growing company, and we expect this position to grow with us! Our ideal candidate will be someone with an entrepreneurial drive to generate and establish new customer acquisition through venue and catering sales.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Position is full-time and requires regular, reliable attendance and a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends and some travel. Other duties may be assigned.
Plans, develops, and implements a comprehensive event and group ticket sales plan in coordination with the Marketing department to ensure overall consistency across the various properties. To include but not limited to; grassroots marketing, networking, cold and warm calls, proactive community involvement.
Provide weekly reporting of all sales activities through TripleSeat and warm/cold lead conversions (call logs).
Identifies and contacts prospective clients to promote event and groups ticket sales on a daily basis while facilitating proper execution of all events to ensure clients expectations are met and that events run smoothly and efficiently.
Provides the highest level of customer service, in planning and executing events. Works independently and is inventive and creative. Possesses the ability to work with a diverse work force and effectively manage and communicate with operations support staff.
Advises and makes recommendations to clients on movie tickets, menu selections, beverage selections, room assignments, design, set-up and up-selling.
Negotiates and prepares event agreements and contracts with clients for all events booked using established guidelines. Reiterates to clients in contracts and Banquet Event Orders all particulars of the event.
Responsible for creating contract terms that comply with local laws and Silverspot’s business strategy. Responsible for updating online event specific information on websites, catering system, and any other online or in-house platform.
Works closely VP of Programing & Strategic partnerships and Booking Managers to help foster relationships with studios. Understands Studio guidelines for booking group tickets and theatre rentals. Create new promotions and develop existing promotions focused on group ticket and event sales.
Works closely with the Marketing and Branding team develop event decks for each location, create more robust website event pages, create in-house marketing materials, social media posts, e-blasts and non-movie collateral for event spaces.
Interacts with managers/supervisors, chefs and catering operation staff on menu development, food set-up and displays, ensuring the highest quality of food production, standards, presentations, and service.
Communicates details of upcoming events with the restaurant, sales/catering, banquet and culinary departments through accurately prepared banquet event orders on Triple Seats, sales reports, weekly BEO meetings, verbal and email communication.
Creates Standard Operation Procedures for operational teams: walk in and phone inquiries, site visits and running events.
With the participation of the management team, assists in developing annual budget by using historical sales, past and current market trends and upcoming films. Maintains monthly budgets and performance tracking.
Acts as Silverspot’s representative in developing and promoting business at trade shows, association meetings, conventions, local business and community events.
Responsible for handling customer complaints and rectifying problem situations.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
College degree preferred. 
5+ years previous event sales experience in a catering facility, hotel or restaurant. 
Multi-Unit experience preferred. 
Movie studio knowledge is a plus.
CRM software experience required, Tripleseat preferred.
Reliable and consistent work attendance is an essential function of this posiiton.

Requirements

 
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
College degree preferred. 5+ year’s previous event sales experience in a catering facility, hotel or restaurant.  Multi-Unit experience preferred.  Movie studio knowledge is a plus.  

 


COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondences, and memos. Ability to write business correspondences and set up contracts and event orders. Ability to professionally present promotional materials to prospective customers, and to effectively communicate and coordinate with front of house managers, cinema employees, kitchen staff, and outside vendors.
Fluent in both English and Spanish. 
 
MATHEMATICAL & COMPUTER SKILLS
Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Online catering management software (VenueBook, Tripleseat, Gather) experience desired.
