SOUTH BAY SANDBLASTING & TANK CLEANING, INC.is a local San Diego shipyard related subcontractor looking to hire aQuality Assurance Coating Inspector.
The normal work shift is 6:00 am to 3:00 pm but it is expected that overtime hours will be required.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands:
Work is conducted outdoors frequently exposed to prevailing weather conditions. Work indoor or aboard vessel which may have fumes, chemicals and heat as well as noise and dust present depending upon the location of work. Other exposures may be exposed to vibrations, smoke, acids, degreasing cleaners, fumes dust, solvents, oil, grease and confined spaces.
Safety equipment required. Requires clothing with no holes, eye protection, and respirator and hearing protection, and may require wearing a hard hat and/or welder's helmet. The individual must be able to frequently climb inclined stairways and vertical. While in work areas the person will be exposed to all weather conditions, noise, dusts and odors. Work aboard the vessels can be strenuous and sometimes hazardous. Dynamic, fast-paced outdoor setting with moderate to loud noise levels from production activity in the shipyard. Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time. Must be flexible to work varying schedules and hours as needed. The physical demands described above are representative of those that may be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Other requirements:
All positions require a pre-employment medical test. This employer participates in E-Verify. Must be able to qualify for RapidGate security clearance. Ability to read technical English is a must. U.S. Citizenship is preferred (for some work locations it is required). Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
