About Joby
Located in Northern California, the Joby Aviation team has been steadily working toward our goal of providing safe, affordable, fully electric air transportation that is accessible to everyone. Imagine an air taxi that takes off vertically, then quietly and quickly carries you over the congestion below, giving you back that time you’d otherwise spend sitting in traffic. Technology has advanced to the point where designing and operating an all-electric aircraft is completely viable. Our team has been discreetly designing and flight testing this vehicle and is looking for talented individuals to see it through certification and high rate production.

About the Job
The ideal candidate will understand the fundamentals of electricity and electronics including their application to the operation of high voltage distribution, motor control, circuits, National Electrical Code, California Electrical Safety Orders, and CAL OSHA. 

This position may require you, on occasion, to drive between our Northern California locations; Marina, Santa Cruz, and San Carlos.

Responsibilities
  • Performs a variety of skilled electrical work involved in construction, maintenance, and troubleshooting. 
  • Experienced in three phase up to 480 volts.
  • Rough in and make up single phase and three phase panels.
  • Proficient in bending and installing EMT.
  • Inspects the various areas of the grounds, as appropriate, to insure its safe and efficient operation.
  • Logs and reports any deficiencies, takes readings, analyzes failures, and takes corrective action to insure plant safety and reliability.
  • Performs a variety of skilled electrical and mechanical work related to the distribution and transmission of electrical power. 
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required
  • Graduation from high school or possession of a G.E.D.
  • Status as a journey level electrician and completion of a formal electrician apprenticeship program.
  • Possession of a valid California Class C driver's license.
  • Possession of required tools.
  • Proof of completion of an accredited three-year formal electrician apprenticeship program. Must be able to perform all of the essential functions of the job assignment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and electrical diagrams.
  • Perform arithmetic calculations involving multiplication, addition, subtraction, division, decimals and fractions. 
  • Safely drive light duty vehicles e.g. pick-up truck, bucket truck.
  • Knowledge of environmental and safety practices, procedures and standards.
  • Maintain accurate and precise written and computerized documents including records, forms and correspondence.
  • Walk or stand for extended periods of time and bend, stoop, reach, carry, crawl, climb, and lift as necessary to perform assigned duties. 
  • Effectively handle multiple priorities, organize workload, and meet strict deadlines. 
  • Work in a team-based environment and achieve common goals.
  • Be able to follow instructions, a self-starter, and work independently with limited supervision.
