Job Description

River Valley Community College is seeking qualified individuals who are interested in adjunct teaching at our Claremont Campus.  Adjunct appointments are temporary, for a specified contract period. This is for in-classroom teaching (not online).

An Adjunct Instructor is needed for the following Spring 2020 semester course (Monday’s 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm) in our Biological Science Department: 

Anatomy & Physiology 1

Lab Instructor 

Example of Duties: 

  •  Teach Anatomy and Physiology courses. 
  •  Develop syllabi and instructional materials. College syllabus template will be provided. 
  •  Assess student performance. Incorporate relevant rubrics. 
  •  Provide assistance and mentorship to students. 

Job Requirements: 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  •  Master's degree in a related field.    
  •  At least three years' experience in teaching, business, or industry in the field directly related to the teaching assignment. Preference will be given to those instructors who have taught in a community college or in a non-traditional setting. 
  •  Evidence of expertise, scholarly activity, or creative work appropriate to the discipline.  

 Preferred Qualifications: 

  •   Successful college teaching experience. 
  •   A demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion in the curriculum and the classroom. 
  • Preference for applicant to have experience in Canvas but will consider experience in other learning management systems.  

Adjunct Level will be determined based upon Education and Experience.  Salary is commensurate with experience.
