Who We Want

The Vice President of Events will build and execute an event marketing strategy to help grow Carson’s business in the financial advisory and FinTech space by creating live experiences that help shape the future of advice. Our event strategy must reflect our brand and showcase Carson’s extreme focus on top quality. They will plan, manage or appropriately delegate all event logistics for Carson hosted and third-party events.

They will build and execute an event marketing strategy, owning it from beginning to end. They will expand their circle of influence and executive network significantly, while learning how to network at the top level of organizations. With continued success, they will continue to build an internal and external team to support the mission of being the most trusted for financial advice. They will oversee all events, logistics and experience design for Carson Group prospects, partners, stakeholders and clients. This includes all advisor focused experiences, national conferences and retail events. This includes but is not limited to logistics, sponsorship, signage, communication, registration, and event sales.

    • Works with Partner Offices to serve as the Events SME, providing coaching and direction to all partners seeking success event design
  • Work closely with Sales and Marketing teams to define go-to-market strategy for each event, campaigns, key objectives, and success measures.
  • Work closely with CMO, VP, Enterprise Sales and Design team to ensure sponsor offering and experience is competitive and enticing.
  • Work collaboratively with the Coaching, Partner Consulting and Business Development Teams who maintain their own Event Budgets
  • Provide direction to Director of Event Experiences and outsourced event management firms on event logistics and execution.
  • Management of quality control, vendor selection and total experience design
  • Management of event budgets and contracts across the full organization
  • Sponsorships:
    • Oversee Sponsorship Relationships
    • Oversee Sponsorship Packages & Joint Marketing Engagements Content
    • Work directly with CMO, Business Development and Business Consulting to reach sales goals across all events

 

What You Need

  • Willingness to travel or send a team member to in person events lasting one to three days or as business needs dictate.
  • A thorough understanding of the event planning process from the early stages through completion.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to manage complex and ever changing budgets.
  • A strong sense of event trends and a desire to consistently refine the event experience across all channels.

 

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Minimum of 10+ years leading a team, preferably in corporate business.
  • Strong understanding of the ever-evolving Event space, trends, behaviors and best practices
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field preferred
  • A portfolio of designing and creating successful experiences
