Job Description

Cornell College is seeking a broadly trained studio artist with an expertise in Digital Practices and a secondary focus in Painting, Drawing, and/or 2-Dimensional Design. Responsibilities will include teaching an array of courses from introductory to advanced in digital art in addition to courses in painting, drawing, and/or design. An ideal candidate will have strengths in at least several of these areas: digital photography, video art, sound art, animation, new media/transmedia arts, interactive media, installation/performance art, socially engaged art, and/or other forms of digital art-making. The successful candidate will also assist with mentoring upper-level student thesis projects. The candidate will have a primary role in developing and designing the new digital art curriculum and digital art lab including space, equipment, and programs. Expectations also include overseeing appropriate studio facilities. An MFA in studio art or another appropriate field is required. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated commitment to teaching and mentoring students. The appointmentwill be at the Assistant Professor level and begin in the fall of 2020.
