Job Description

Cornell College invites applications for a one year, full-time appointment to the faculty at the rank of visiting Lecturer or visiting Assistant Professor, depending upon qualifications, to begin in Fall 2020. The position may be converted to a tenure-track line in the following year. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related discipline (ABD considered), or a Master's degree with relevant professional experience. The department welcomes applications from candidates with special interests in any part of computer science. It will favor candidates who show a readiness to introduce students to opportunities that await them after graduation, for example, through collaborative research or engagement with industry.

The successful candidate will be prepared to teach courses at the 100 and 200 level. Available courses include CSC140 Foundations of Computer Science (taught with the Python programming language), CSC151 Discrete Mathematics for Computer Science, and CSC230 Database Technologies for Analytics (taught with SQL and serving, among others, students of economics and business).
