Job Description
The Clinical Documentation Specialist oversees the development, implementation and monitoring of clinical documentation systems to ensure the technology is in place to support patient care and business growth. Focus includes Cerner PowerChart, FirstNet and/or SurgiNet as well as other clinical systems as appropriate. The incumbent is the primary subject matter expert (SME) for Cerner clinical documentation systems. He/she assesses business needs and assists in developing appropriate solutions. Serves as team leader for software installation and upgrade projects, participates in development of business practices and policies, designs testing and integration plans, develops clinical documentation reports and serves as liaison between clinical departments, vendors, and IS staff. Functions in concert with other members of the CNE IS and the Clinical Informatics Department to coordinate a unified approach to related project activities. *ZR
