Job Description

 

Burlington English has an opening for a sales representative in the greater Bay Area. We are offering the opportunity to join a vibrant work environment and an exceptional national sales team that sells and supports products and services that are on the cutting edge of English language acquisition for adults. We are hiring an educational sales professional that will manage and develop a sales territory, primarily in the Greater Bay Area.

 

The ideal candidate has a proven track record of selling software, technology or educational programs, strong communication skills, and is able to build relationships with all levels of administrative and instructional staff. We will consider individuals with a teaching background (English as a Second Language is an advantage) or quick learners from other backgrounds with a strong desire to transition to educational sales.

REQUIREMENTS

 

Expectations

  • Drive strong sales in the territory from the ground up.
  • Generate leads and qualify prospects building a pipeline through outbound business development and sales activities
  • Ability to understand needs of customers to develop personalized solutions
  • Collaborate with other departments in the group including product development, publishing and support
  • Manage the customer relationship – from demonstration to implementation
  • Manage and report on pipeline, sales status, and forecast revenue
  • Travel approximately 30-50% of the time (with seasonal variations) with approximately 2-4 customer meetings per day

 

Skills & Experience

  • Quick learner
  • 2-3 years in field-based sales or 3-5 years teaching experience, in the areas of educational technology, curriculum, or related fields with a proven track record of working with administration at educational institutions and school districts
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, organizational and verbal/written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to manage a diverse workload
  • Ability to work independently in a remote working environment as well as part of a team in fast-paced situations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • Second language – advantage
