Wealth and Investment Management (WIM) businesses build enduring client relationships through sound, thoughtful and objective advice. Services include comprehensive planning and advice, investment management, brokerage, private banking, estate planning strategies, trust, and both individual and institutional retirement.

As part of the Wealth & Investment Management (WIM) Control Group, the WIM Enterprise and Regulatory Change Management team (ERCM) provides support for all WIM Enterprise and Regulatory Change Management efforts, inclusive of Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering efforts.

The team is seeking a Business Risk & Controls Officer responsible for leadership of business cross functional teams to plan and execute on AML initiatives (regulatory, policy and/or business process improvement) across Wealth, Abbot Downing, Retirement, Wells Fargo Asset Management and Wells Fargo Advisors.  The role will work closely with the Line of Business (LOB) Risk managers, WIM Group Portfolio Delivery, Compliance, and WIM LOBs.

Responsibilities
• Provide leadership in the integration/implementation of initiatives with cross functional business partners, recognizing the significance of competing priorities and strategies and adjusting as necessary
• Effectively progress, communicate, and execute initiatives, ensuring compliance with regulatory, audit and/or policy timelines
• Engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously and meet aggressive deadlines amid shifting priorities
• Facilitate working groups to research, identify, define, and/or execute activities to resolve risks and issue
• Collaborate effectively with external and internal customers and partners
• Speak and provide requirements on behalf of line of business subject matter experts and AML Compliance and Risk Managers
• Become an expert on the WIM AML framework; both business and technical



Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in risk management (includes compliance, financial crimes, operational risk, audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, IT systems security, business process management) or 7+ years of financial services industry experience, of which 5+ years must include direct experience in risk management

  • Ability to turn preliminary or ambiguous information, ideas, or problems into well-defined plans and solutions
  • Knowledge and understanding of project management and implementation in a matrix managed environment
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills



Other Desired Qualifications
  • Experience supporting BSA/AML efforts in a financial services organization
  • Ability to work independently and tactfully drive efforts forward
  • Facilitation skills, including ability to facilitate decision-making and broker agreements amongst diverse, differing, and/or conflicting perspectives/priorities
  • Ability to organize, manage and  track large volumes of activities across multiple initiatives and groups
  • Demonstrated analytical ability to identify risks and confidently devise and lead mitigating activities
