Duff & Phelps’ Property Tax practice assists clients in identifying tax saving opportunities by reviewing their tangible property portfolio and associated property tax assessments and liabilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Our Property Tax Analysts focus on real estate and personal property tax compliance services including processing assessment notices and tax bills, analyzing asset data and preparing renditions, maintaining data integrity in proprietary applications, communicating with clients and taxing authorities and monitoring administrative projects. 

  • Track all real estate and personal property value notices
  • Track and approve tax bills for payment
  • Track and obtain other missing tax documents which may include calls to government offices
  • Perform other related duties as directed by upper management
  • Available to work overtime as needed
  • Ability to maintain positive client relationships and ensure that all client needs are meet
  • Track rendition, appeal and tax bill deadlines and any other deadlines for miscellaneous tasks
  • File appeals when necessary and track them till resolution
  • Prioritize tasks and assignments
  • Analyze and classify assets for taxability and integrity, as guided by upper management
  • Ability to effectively communicate with clients, state officials, auditors and collectors
  • Review and process due diligence notifications
  • Prepare multiple reports/returns to state jurisdictions
  • Learn proprietary software applications to manage data
  • Stay informed on property tax procedures by participating in training sessions and educational opportunities
  • Communicate with clients and co-workers in a professional manner
  • General/Intermediate MS Excel and Word experience
  • PTMS experience preferred, but not required
  • Ability to work independently or in a team setting
  • Provide outgoing mail support as needed
  • Transcribe data from incoming mail documents
  • Perform other duties as directed by the Lead
REQUIREMENTS: 
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively with co-workers and clients
  • Working knowledge of personal computer and multiple software applications used in job functions including Intermediate MS Excel and MS Word
  • Ability to collaborate with leads and other team members
  • Demonstrate the ability to obtain technical expertise in the managed field
  • Ability to problem solve and make educated decisions
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business or related field OR a minimum of 4 years related work experience
