This flexible full or part-time (0.8-1.0) Internal Medicine physician opportunity located in our Madison East clinic practice location offers an Internist the opportunity to join our team of 7 internists and 4 Advanced Practice providers. Our PCMH certified practice utilizes a care team approach to optimize patient care.
In addition to physicians and APPs, care teams at the East IM Clinic consist of nurses and medical assistants as well as:
Certified Diabetic Educator Behavioral Health Therapist
Embedded Pharmacist Health Coach
Care Coordination RN Onsite Social Workers
This team approach is one reason that has led to the East Clinic IM department’s superior quality ratings in an organization known throughout WI as a high performer in clinical quality.
Our multi-specialty clinic on Madison’s east side consists of both primary and specialty patient care along with an onsite urgent care, pharmacy, x-ray and lab. Internists partner with our St. Mary’s Hospitalist team for any inpatient needs. Internal Medicine physicians receive a substantial sign on and retention bonus in addition to salary advance options. Other unique features include:
-Shared 1 in 12 call schedule with RN triage
-Outpatient practice with nursing home option
-1.0-0.8 FTE option
-Dedicated RN and MA to each care team ( no rotating staff)
-Mature Epic EMR with individual optimization options to improve efficiency
-Multi-Specialty clinic setting with excellent access to in clinic specialists
Requirements:
MD or DO
Active Unrestricted WI Medical License (or ability to obtain one)
BE/BC in Internal Medicine
Active Unrestricted DEA

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for obtaining call coverage by other medical staff members for holidays, vacations and other time off.
- Responsible for the standard of practice for patient population.
- Responsibility for maintaining a private office and all clinical decision making within the office during times of service.
- Acts as an advisor and consultant in the establishment of operational policies of the practice to include: (1) Purchasing and capital allocations; (2) Managed care plan participation; (3) Budget and practice expenses; (4) Medicare/Medicaid participation; (5) Billing and collection of professional fees; (6) Personnel management and related policies; (7) Risk management and quality assurance; and (8) Coding compliance.
- Responsible for after-hours call coverage for patients of the practice, in addition to office appointments.
- Participates in community service activities, including speaking engagements, writing and special clinical programs as reasonably requested.
- Responsible for all risk management, coding compliance and quality assurance activities and functions in and related to the practice.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
