Overview

Job Family: Risk

Monitors activities to minimize the company's exposure to risk. Represents or supports the reputation of the company to minimize compliance and regulatory risk by resolving issues and ensuring adherence to company and legal standards. Responsible for ensuring that all of the company's activities adhere to the necessary rules and regulations, and that the company complies with legal/regulatory statutes and jurisdictions.

Job Function: Risk Management

Ensures adherence to the policies and procedures established by the company. Monitors and manages risk/exposure and compliance with the company's policies. Identifies, manages and reports on the company's risk areas. .

Summary of Responsibilities:

The Sr. Analyst, Risk Management is responsible for various activities relating to risk management performance. S/he works to identify, assess and action various risks throughout the assigned business line by executing defined risk programs. Additionally, the incumbent executes, reviews, or evaluates controls via a quality program and participates in initiatives and recommends opportunities for improved efficiency, effectiveness and/or risk reduction.

Essential Functions:

  • Develops competence by performing structured work assignments
  • Uses existing processes and procedures to solve routine or standard problems
  • Receives instruction, guidance and direction from supervisor and has responsibility and accountability for several daily, weekly and monthly reporting activities.
  • Will support the Risk MIS team in the delivery of Ad-hoc reporting requests as required.
  • Serve as a point of contact for SHUSA credit Metrics reporting deliverables.
  • Examine the portfolio and on a comprehensive, as well as a segmented basis.
  • Proactively identify and escalate emerging risks with recommendations.
  • Assist as needed in enterprise wide projects.
  • Assure clear, concise and objective reporting.
  • Identify and escalate issues and observations as they arise

Requirements:

  • Education –
    • Bachelor's Degree: Accounting, Business, Statistics, Information Systems, Finance, Economics or equivalent field.
    • or equivalent work experience
  • Experience –
    • 1-5 years Risk Management
  • Skills & Abilities –
    • Understanding of key inherent risk and risk management control practices to perform periodic analysis with critical reasoning for high management reporting.
    • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
    • Understanding of software applications such as SQL, SAS, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Tableau
    • Knowledge of credit risk reporting structures (Extraction, Transformation and Loading (ETLs), Risk Data Management, Risk Data Warehouse, etc.)
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to build and foster internal relationships.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills.
    • Ability to summarize, document, and communicate information in a clear and concise manner.
    • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
    • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.

Working Conditions:
