Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking a senior level software configuration management (SCM) to support our product development team in Richardson TX.

The SCM engineer will support the flight and training system software team for the establishment, upgrade, and sustainment of US Navy programs.

Position Responsibilities

  • Oversees and leads the software configuration items of the computing products within a given scope (using ClearCase, ClearQuest, etc.)
  • Participate in all stages of the software development life cycle.
  • Coordinate software deliveries with software engineering team, security and customer locations.
  • Moderate Software Review Board (SRB) meetings and providing agendas and minute
  • Develop and manage the execution of small to medium projects including schedules, budgets and progress reporting to ensure implementations that are on time, within budget and meet quality objectives.
  • Analyze end users business processes to provide solutions to facilitate desired objectives
  • Meet with end users to define requirements for software applications
  • Leads the evaluation of moderately complex commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) products and current Boeing products by testing and benchmarking for solutions to requirements
  • Utilize data gathered from customers to assist in the definition of Configuration and Data Management requirements for product hardware, software and engineering design data systems
  • Performs integration, routine analysis and resolution of issues with engineering product structure.
  • Work under minimal direction to coordinate and conduct product and subsystem level technical design reviews and audits for new and derivative products

This position requires an active Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance, (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)

This position does not offer relocation.  Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Accredited Engineering Degree (systems engineering, computer science, or related technical discipline)
  • Experience communicating to employees, customers, peers, and all levels of leadership
  • Experience leading teams and developing solutions to complex situations

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science
  • Clearcase/Clearquest Experience

Typical Education/Experience:

Bachelor's and 9 or more years' experience, Master's degree with 7 or more years' experience or PhD degree with 4 or more years’ experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
