Your pleasant, friendly demeanor will set the tone as you contact patients and family members and work with the team to coordinate the day to day operations of the deparment.



Responsibilities

In this rolel, our Lead coordinates the day-to-day operations of the Pre-Registration Representative staff of 15 people at a designated site and/or department while also performing the duties of a Pre-Registration Representative. Responsibilities include directing workflow, solving problems and creating staff schedules. Participates as a member of the health care team in cooperation with and under the direction of the department manager.



Qualifications

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required. A minimum of two years college education including satisfactory completion of college level Health Records coursework preferred.

Experience:

A minimum of one year of healthcare experience or equivalent education in at least one of the following areas required: Pre-Registration, Admitting, Patient Access or applicable clerical support experience. Six months customer service experience required. Previous registrar and third party payer experience preferred. An understanding of health plan and benefit structures preferred.

Skills:

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly in the English language
  • Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision, exercising independent judgment within stated guidelines
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills which promote cooperation and teamwork
  • Ability to withstand varying job pressures and organize/prioritize related job tasks
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks at the same time
  • Excellent public relations skills and demonstrated ability to communicate in calm, succinct, business-like manner
  • Ability to deal with people in stressful situations
  • Ability to identify alternative means of communication as needed
  • Ability to adapt to change
  • Net typing of 40 WPM and PC based computer skills
  • Familiarity with 10 key
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
