Internal Audit conducts audits and reports the results of our work to the Audit & Examinations Committee of the Board of Directors. We provide independent, objective assurance and consulting services delivered through a highly competent and diverse team. As a business partner, Audit helps the Company accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes.

Specific Duties:

This specific role will lead our coverage of Wells Fargo’s Business Process Management function. This includes evaluating the quality of project management as the function expands, the accuracy of process mapping activities, and the effectiveness of controls managing the function’s ongoing risk. Coverage will be executed by a team of direct reports, but will also require coordination with various other audit teams in the department.

The Senior Audit Manager for Business Process Management will support a variety of audit activities and provide guidance and oversight for audit teams on their engagements. They will also act as a subject matter expert on business process management for the audit department.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manages a team responsible for auditing Business Process Management.
  • Assesses associated risks and controls and completes engagements related to Business Process Management.
  • Responsible for resource management and assisting a broader team in overall audit plan completion.
  • Provides timely feedback, coaching and monitoring of development plans.
  • Builds and maintains a proficient team of auditors
  • Develops and maintains strong business relationships with leadership across WF and other stakeholders, such as regulatory agencies.
  • Plans and organizes work in an annual cycle, not just project cycle.
  • Ensures audit engagements are risk-based, and executed according to Audit policies and guidance.
  • Manage relationships with key leaders across Wells Fargo to ensure audit results are accurately understood and acted on.

  • Lead your team with integrity and create an environment where your team members feel included, valued, and supported to do work that energizes them.
  • Accomplish management responsibilities which include sourcing and hiring talented team members, providing ongoing coaching and feedback, recognizing and developing team members, identifying and managing risks, and completing daily management tasks.


Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of management experience
  • 8+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following audit or risk functions: leading teams covering risk identification, mitigation and management (includes audit, legal, operational risk, compliance risk, credit risk, market risk, technology risk, or the management of a process or business with accountability for risk.)

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Knowledge and understanding of audit methodologies and tools that support audit processes
  • Solid problem solving skills
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
  • Certification in one or more of the following: CPA, CAMS, CRCM, CIA, CISA or Commissioned Bank Examiner designation
  • Leadership experience
  • A BS/BA degree or higher
  • Experience at a financial institution or accounting firm
  • Strong understanding of financial regulatory environment
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of audit or risk methodologies and supporting tools



Other Desired Qualifications
  • Demonstrated success at a large financial institution or auditing company evaluating the risk of complex, multi-year initiatives such as mergers/acquisitions, product developments, or strategic business changes.
  • Demonstrated success evaluating risks associated with large scale projects
  • Holds a certification associated with auditing, risk management and/or project management.
  • Ability to lead projects/initiatives with high risk and complexity
  • Experience or knowledge of industry best practices related to business process management.
  • Experience leading ongoing audits of long-term initiatives that require periodic status reporting and real-time escalation of concerns
  • Ability to manage their team and maintain engagement during high-profile assignments with challenging timelines
  • Demonstrated ability to challenge executive leaders and present to senior bank regulators
  • Familiarity with various methods used to identify, document, analyze and improve operational processes, including those focused efficiency, effectiveness and risk mitigation.
  • Experience at a significantly complex financial services organization with a large number of diverse processes required to execute business objectives.


Job Expectations

  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
