Position Overview

The Vice President of Technology will direct and manage the information, data integrity and technology of the Company as well as manage the Information Technology department and functions of the Company. This includes all data centers, technical service centers, production scheduling functions, help desk, communication networks (voice and data), computer program development and computer and technology systems operations.

Plan, direct and coordinate the strategic plans, policies, and programs for technology and management information services to accomplish corporate goals and objectives. Plan, direct and coordinate activities for multi-team or cross functional organization centered on improving businesses processes and decision making.

Areas of Responsibility:
  • Direct and manage information technology strategic plans, policies, programs, and schedules for business including finance data processing, computer services, network communications, telephone systems and management information services to accomplish corporate goals and objectives
  • Develop strategic plans and implement the objectives of the information technology needs of the company to ensure the technology capabilities are responsive to the needs of the company's growth and objectives
  • Direct the information and data integrity of the company and its business units
  • Develop and establish operating policies and approaches for computing and information technology
  • Evaluate overall operations of computing and information technology functions and recommend enhancements
  • Advise senior management on strategic systems conversions and integrations in support of business goals and objectives
  • Develop organization that allows for functionality and responsiveness to rapidly growing company including help desk, store operations and store technology and infrastructure support
  • Prepare enterprise objectives and budgets to facilitate the orderly and efficient capture, storage, processing, and dissemination of information
  • Interact with company managers on internal and external operations that are impacted by the capture, storage, processing and dissemination of information
  • Review and approve major contracts for computing and information technology services and equipment
  • Ensure the security of the information systems, communication lines, and equipment
  • Oversee the development, design, and implementation of new applications and changes to existing computer systems and software packages
  • Responsible for the development, review, and certification of all back-up and disaster recovery procedures and plans
  • Identify emerging information technologies to be assimilated, integrated, and introduced within the company
  • Assess new computing technologies to determine potential value for the company
  • Oversee ongoing improvements and the feasibility of system enhancements
  • Establish company infrastructure to support and guide individual divisions/departments/sites in computing and information technology efforts
  • Establish and implement short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures
  • Direct and lead monthly Technology meeting regarding forward direction and projects
Key Skills and Requirements:
  • Experience in strategic planning and execution
  • Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management
  • Knowledge of information technology computer systems and software and the ability to manage the entire spectrum of information technology operations
  • Experience with implementation of information technology in a multi-user and multi-location environment (restaurant or retail environment a plus)
  • Knowledge with point of sales systems, data warehouse, labor scheduling systems and other restaurant or retail applications
  • Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects
  • Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in increasing roles of responsibilities including managing previous IT departments
  • BA required and advanced degree a plus
  • Willing to work a flexible schedule with some travel
