About this job
MAJOR FOCUS: Responsible for assisting in the management of the retail shops and upholding the high standards of the operation. Ensure excellent customer service, maximize financial return, and foster a great work environment. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Provide guests with the highest level of customer service. • Maintain awareness of security in all shops. • Keep track of, account for and replenish all clothing, souvenirs, etc.; stock merchandise, logging all items received, damaged and transferred for end of month inventory count. • Handle all complaints and problems that may occur in a courteous and professional manner. • Complete and submit all paperwork that is due on a daily, weekly, or monthly to the Retail Manager. • Ensure proper pricing of merchandise. • Oversee cashiers’ variances solving transactions and mistakes, and audit cashier banks. • Maintain a smooth selling floor. • Ensure employees are implementing store promotions and sales contests. • Ensure all “Specialty Brand” programs are followed and standards upheld. • Responsible for store replenishment of goods; including buying to realistic ROS (rate of sale), following sales and turnover goals, creating purchase orders and paying invoices. • Assist with monthly inventory. • Complete and issue timely evaluations for subordinates. • Conduct formal and informal training for subordinates. • Conduct formal and informal coaching and counseling with subordinates. • Reward and recognize superior performers. • Ensure that employees work safely and follow all safety rules. • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations as well as company policies and procedures. • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry and competition. • Ensure effective communication within the department and company. • Hold subordinates accountable for established performance expectations. • Motivate and develop staff; provide advice and guidance as appropriate. • Comply with and enforce compliance with the company’s recycling program standards. • Carry out daily directives given by the Retail Manager and/or Assistant Retail Manager ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS: • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
• High school diploma, GED or equivalent work experience required. • Two years of retail supervisory experience preferred. • Must possess good math skills. • Must possess computer proficiency with Microsoft Word. • Must possess good oral and written communication skills. • Must possess good customer service and leadership skills. • Must be able to solve problems and deal with a variety of situations. • Must present an overall professional appearance. • Must be able to work weekends, holidays and nights as scheduled. • Must be able to successfully pass a background check.
