We have an exceptional opportunity for an Infection Control Registered Nurse (RN) Educator to join our healthcare team at Brevard County Jail located in Cocoa, FL.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, monitor and evaluate the Infection Control Program for the site.
  • Collaborate with department managers and resource personnel using indicators such as new policy development, new technology, patient case study, and quality assurance monitors, to prioritize staff development needs.
  • Prepares, presents, and coordinates clinical and non-clinical trainings to ensure staff competency upon hire and throughout their employment.
  • Provide surveillance to identify, investigate, and record date concerning infections and initiate appropriate infection control measures.
  • Maintains records and generates statistical reports relating to Quality Improvement activities, and sentinel event reporting
  • Reports to onsite Health Services Administrator, Director of Nursing and Regional Infection Control RN.

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of employment, with unrestricted and non-probationary licensure state.
  • Possesses an active CPR certification.
  • At least 2 years of experience in healthcare, preferably in corrections environment or with infection control.
  • Satisfactory completion of initial and annual clinical competencies to demonstrate aptitude as assigned by role.

 

A background check, security clearance and drug screening are required for this role.
