The Operations Manager will oversee all daily manufacturing operations and strategic requirements of the Shape Charge plant to ensure all policies and procedures are followed. The Operations Manager will develop process that will maximize stewardship, safety, quality and productivity.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required, other degrees can be substituted by years of experience
  • MBA preferred but not required
  • 10 years of manufacturing experience required, preferably in high volume system assembly line environment
  • Ideally Lean and/or Six Sigma Black Belt certified
  • Excellent project management skills, PMP certification preferred
  • Adequate knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategy planning, resource allocation and human resource)
  • Knowledgeable of safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, inventory and stewardship processes.
  • Ability to create accountability and lead by example
  • Expertise in manufacturing continuous improvement methodologies including breakdown analysis/Root cause analysis, CAPA and FMEA
  • Provide appropriate shop floor level support by interfacing with operators and other functional groups to review process issues and resolve with sound, and lasting, corrective actions
  • Experience in an explosives environment required, Shape Charge experience preferred.
  • Experience in a metal fabrication environment required
  • Experience in a mass component manufacturing environment using automated and semi-automated manufacturing processes would be beneficial
  • Competency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and experience with ERP/MRP systems
  • Strong analytical skills to address BOM errors and variances, and provide input on standard costs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills at all levels of an organization.
  • Ability to work in a global, fast paced cross functional team
  • Well organized and proactive, self-starter
  • Assist in new product implementation projects
  • Participate in cross functional teams for incident investigation and corrective action activities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Operations Manager Shape Charge)
  • Plan, organize, and direct optimum day-to-day operations to exceed internal and external expectations.
  • The Operations Manger Continuously improve manufacturing processes to ensure superior product quality, reduced cycle times, lead times, and minimize overall manufacturing costs
  • Plan, organize, and direct optimum day-to-day operations to exceed internal and external expectations.
  • Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus.
  • Special project Implementation (capital equipment, flow, automation, support equipment)
  • Increase production, assets capacity, and flexibility while minimizing costs and maintaining current quality standards.
  • Share a trusting relationship with the staff and recruit, manage and develop plant staff.
  • Interact with product, equipment, parts and tooling vendors to evaluate requirements according to quality standards and specifications
  • Develop, evaluate and design manufacturing processes through the application of Lean/ Six Sigma knowledge and practices of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials of the Shape Charge plant.
  • Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
  • Provide manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements
