Position Title\:  Senior Engineer Failure Analysis

Hours\:       Monday – Friday, 8\:00 am to 5\:00 pm 

Summary of Duties\: 

Work as a Senior Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) administrator/developer in the Center for Complex Analysis (CCA) at GLOBALFOUNDRIES’ manufacturing facility in Malta, New York (Fab 8). Responsible for sample submissions, generating job tickets, billing system submissions, APIs, automated reporting, and analytical dashboards. Liaise fab-wide with IT for all lab- and tool-related network and computer hardware issues. Provide LIMS module development for GLOBALFOUNDRIES’ LIMS applications to various semiconductor labs. Provide daily technical support to LIMS users in support of CCA laboratory operations. Work on database administration/maintenance, troubleshooting, training, and lab tools maintenance. Develop enhancements and new features in LIMS. Create accurate and detailed system documentation reflecting database creation and use for any changes made to the LIMS system. Perform unit and integration testing before introducing updates to the production environment. Organize, analyze, and prioritize departmental LIMS work demands. Develop and enhance LIMS systems, which include requirement analysis, designing, programming, configuration, upgrades/patches, system documentation, custom reports, bug fixes, and training. Travel as needed (less than 5%).

 

Qualification:

Position requires a Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or a closely related field of study and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or as a Software Developer, Application Engineer, Graduate Research Assistant, or a closely related role. Alternatively, will accept a Bachelor’s Degree in the above fields and four (4) years of related experience or a PhD in the above fields, in lieu of a Master’s Degree and two (2) years of experience. 

Position also requires knowledge or experience with LIMS administration or development. Requires knowledge or experience with PL/SQL (Oracle) databases and administration. Requires knowledge or experience with LIMS modules, workflows, development, and programming. Requires knowledge or experience configuring LIMS analysis data, product tables, and test lists. Requires knowledge or experience using Javascript, Java Swings, JSP, Jquery, Ajax, Oracle 10g, Eclipse, SQL Developer, HTML5, XML, CSS, Spring Framework, vbscript, and shell scripting. Requires knowledge or experience writing SQL queries, stored procedures, packages, triggers, and views in Oracle 12c. Requires knowledge or experience developing desktop applications using Java Swings and JavaFX. Requires knowledge or experience in SOAP and REST web services. Requires knowledge or experience testing and debugging applications. Requires knowledge or experience networking lab tools. Requires knowledge or experience maintaining Windows and Unix servers. Requires knowledge or experience using Apache Tomcat servers and Jboss servers. Requires knowledge or experience generating reports in Tableau and administering servers.  Knowledge or experience can be gained concurrently through a graduate degree curriculum, Co-Op, or internship. Travel as needed (less than 5%).
