The Post Oak Hotel at Uptown Houston is seeking a Security Officer to join our team. What you can expect to do:
  • Patrol the hotel grounds to identify, report, and prevent any unusual activity or hazardous discrepancies
  • Produce detailed incident reports based upon facts gathered in self-conducted investigations
  • Promote a safe working environment while adhering to OSHA mandated standards
  • Monitor the fire life safety system with the ability to promptly respond to alarms and assist with evacuations
  • Thorough understanding of the hotel’s emergency preparedness procedures and catastrophic event response
  • Responsible for logging daily activity, managing key control, and issuing visitor badge credentials
  • A flexible schedule is required colleagues be available to work weekends, holidays, and special events on property
  • Must obtain a CPR certification, as well as a state issued Private Security Officer License within 30 days of hire date
  • Experience using video management systems, to view, replay, and archive surveillance footage
  • Ability to communicate in a clear and articulate manor with guests and colleagues in a variety of platforms
  • Capable of standing for extended periods of time while maintaining a friendly and approachable demeanor
  • Ability to ascent multiple stairwell levels at an expedite pace in emergency instances
  • Must achieve CLSO designation within six months of hire date

  • Minimum of two years’ experience working as a Security Officer or Loss Prevention Agent in an upscale or luxury environment
  • Hotel and guest service experience is highly desired
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred but can be substituted with military service, first responder or law enforcement background
  • Knowledge and understanding of state laws and municipal ordinances
  • Basic computer proficiency including familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and any security operation software systems
  • Knowledge in and or experience with Forbes 5 Star service standards is preferred.
