The Nursing Administrative Supervisor supervises and coordinates Nursing personnel in all areas of Hospital to provide safe, efficient, and therapeutically effective Nursing care. The Nursing Administrative Supervisor also manages daily work schedules, trains and supervises personnel, oversees general upkeep of facilities, and maintains continuity of patient care. 


Below are the essential functions for the role.

  • Participate in revising and developing departmental policies and procedures; interpret and advise subordinate personnel on policies and procedures while ensuring adherence to significant Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) standards and Hospital policy.

  • Enforce all Hospital and administrative policies and procedures including security, safety, fire, admission, and non-nursing related policies and procedures.

  • Assist in interviewing and selecting prospective employees.

  • Monitor the condition of patients, critically ill patients, staffing situations, and unusual events, which occur during assigned shift.

  • Respond to emergencies with initiative action and direct nursing and ancillary personnel until hospital administrative personnel arrive.

  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with various departmental personnel, patients' families, Physicians, and outside agencies to exchange information, resolve operational problems, and improve quality of patient care.

  • Perform professional nursing to patients in response to workload or staffing shortages.

  • Graduate of an accredited program required
  • 3+ Years� experience required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license required
