We are looking for RNs to work in one of our Behavior Health units.

 

The Registered Nurse (RN) exhibits and executes Baylor Scott & White Health�s (BSWH) Values & Behaviors in delivering and coordinating patient care. Utilizing the BSWH nursing professional practice model, the RN is a licensed professional who is responsible for using clinical reasoning, developing, implementing and evaluating the nursing plan of care, managing both emotional and physical patients, assessing patient and family level of understanding to provide effective communication and education, working collaboratively with medical staff and providing quality care in a compassionate and professional manner.  

 

Our Behavioral Health RNs help treat patients for a wide range of disorders and provide care during partial hospitalization for serious psychiatric symptoms, intensive outpatient treatment and/or treatment for addictive disorders. Our Behavioral Health RNs routinely assess the patient�s physiologic and/or psychosocial health status, formulate the plan of care, establish priorities necessary to achieve expected outcomes, and collaborate with other care team members in planning and carrying out treatment regimens.  Our Behavioral Health RNs may also administer medications and participate in patient and family education.

 

Ideal Behavioral Health RN candidates will have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to handle a chaotic situation in a calm and rational manner.

�  Associate�s Degree in Nursing (ADN) required

�  RN license required

�  Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

�    1 Year of RN experience required

BSN Preferred


Note: If you have less than 6 months of experience, we recommend that you apply to our nursing internship program.  Internships are available for new graduates and experienced nurses in a variety of specialties. New classes begin in January, June, and September.
