Nurse Manager Ob-Gyn

The Nurse Manager administers an assigned nursing program or organizational unit with responsibility for planning, selecting, and/or devising the methods and policies/procedures to be used and for directing nursing supervisors and/or other personnel in the accomplishment of designated goals. Negotiates interdepartmental resources, communicates and plans with managers of

staff in other departments to ensure effective level of service to the unit/program. The Nurse Manager also advocates for the professional development of the clinical staff and represents the department at inter department meetings on operations.


Ob-Gyn is a large clinic and qualified candidates will have experience with managing a large clinical staff and will demonstrate the ability to resolve conflict within the workplace, evaluate employee performance and facilitate creating a inclusive working environment with multi-disciplinary teams.

Understanding six sigma project management is helpful in evaluating clinic efficiencies and making recommendations for improvement. Strong interpersonal communications skills required. Ideally candidates will have 2+ years experience managing an Ambulatory Clinic within a complex organization.


Responsibilities:

1. Plans adequate staffing and adjustments based on patient needs and staff skill mix.

2. Evaluates performance of staff members, including coaching and performance management processes.

3. Manages the hiring process.

4. Maintains and supports evidence based practices in the clinical area. Assures compliance with national standards and

initiatives, e.g., National Patient Safety Goals and The Joint Commission. Promotes individual/peer and departmental

accountability to the organization’s Mission, Vision, and Goals.

5. Develops the budget for personnel and non-personnel expenses. Makes unit based decisions to promote stewardship of

resources. Encourages and supports process improvements which promote fiscal responsibility.

6. Assumes responsibility for patient flow processes. Strategizes to improve efficiency and eliminate barriers that impact

patient and family centered care.

7. Performs other duties as required or assigned.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduate from an accredited Nursing Program required.

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) with 2 years of clinical experience and demonstrated leadership ability required.

  • Masters of Science Degree in Nursing (MSN) preferred. 

    • Certification in a specialty preferred.

Required Licensure/Certification Skills:

  • Licensed Registered Nurse in New Hampshire required.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certificate required.
