About this job

MAJOR FOCUS:

Responsible for completion of daily, weekly, monthly accounting processes including, but not limited to, preparation of journal entries, financial reports, developing and maintaining department budgets, and reconciliation of key general ledger accounts. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1)	Reconciles all assigned accounts on a monthly basis and researches all variances.
2)	Prepares monthly and quarterly financial statement packages.
3)	Analyzes and researches vendor reports.
4)	Maintains support files for all journal entries and account analysis.
5)	Effectively prepares, maintains, and reports internal financial transactions, records, and analyses.
a)	Prepares daily, weekly, monthly, annual, and other periodic financial transactions, analyses, reports, and statements.  Ensures accuracy and timeliness of all accounting activities.
b)	Ensures that accounting records and reports are in compliance with GAAP and all appropriate government regulations.  Assist with internal and external audits as appropriate.
c)	Ensures adequacy of accounting records including: 
i)	Complete and neat documentation of all accounting entries.
ii)	Single purpose journal entries.
iii)	Comments on each journal entry that adequately explains the journal entry.
iv)	Accuracy of account distributions.
v)	Accuracy of revenue and expense classifications.
vi)	Filing of journal entries and supporting documentation, accounts payable, and accounts receivable transactions in standard monthly binders.
vii)	Retention of all daily, weekly, monthly transaction edit-lists and posting documentation.
d)	Prepares a complete analysis of all balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis, including the accuracy of all account balances.
e)	Timely completion of bank reconciliations, deferred revenue accounting, ticketing analysis, and event P&L preparation as assigned.  Makes appropriate adjusting entries.
f)	Ensures the appropriateness of revenue and expense recognition.  Enters journal entries.
g)	Assists in the preparation and monitoring of annual department and operating budgets and cash flow projections.
6)	Establishes and maintains effective communication and coordination with company personnel, departments, and management.
a)	Advises department managers regarding accounting entries, reports, results of operations, and comparative analyses.
b)	Completes timely, accurate reports, records, and other documentation.
c)	Assists in resolving accounting and financial problems and/or issues.
d)	Supports inquiries from other departments through investigation, review, and corrective action as necessary.  Communicates results back to inquirer.
7)	Provides exceptional customer service 
8)	Works safely, following all established safety rules and regulations
9)	Communicates effectively with co-workers, supervisors and guests.
10)	Follows all relevant policies and procedures.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS:

•	Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

REQUIREMENTS/EDUCATION:

•	Bachelors’ degree in accounting or related field, or equivalent experience required.
•	One (1) to three (3) years experience in related field required.
•	Must possess good communication skills
•	Must be able to report to work on time as scheduled
•	Must be able to work weekends, holidays and nights as needed
•	Must present an overall professional appearance and  report to work in appropriate attire 
•	Must be proficient with Excel, Access and Microsoft Word.
•	Must be able to successfully pass a background check
•	Must be able to speak, read and write English
