What You Will Do

As an Associate with Via Christi Health, you will have the opportunity to assist with the radiation therapy delivery by managing and maintaining appropriate equipment and supplies.

Responsibilities:

Performs Medical Physics duties under the direct supervision of a Board Certified Physicist.

Performs quality assurance and performance testing of equipment used to perform imaging exams.

Provides oversight for dosimetry reports, dosimetry badge packaging, distribution and return of dosimetry badges throughout the health ministry.

Provides training and advice to clinical staff on the safe and proper use of radiation producing equipment as directed by the medical physicist and Radiation Safety Officer.

Assists in the required documentation regarding use of radioactive materials in compliance with applicable statutory and regulatory standards and other duties as assigned by the medical physicist(s) and Radiation Safety Officer.

Assists with the functions and duties of the medical physics department by managing and maintaining appropriate equipment and supplies.

What You Will Need

Licenses/Certifications/Registration:

• Preferred Credential(s):
  • Medical Physicist. 

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree in Physics or 5 years of experience in radiologic technology.

Work Experience:

• None required.
