Assistant Teacher

The Assistant Teacher assists the classroom teaching team with planning and executing effective and developmental classroom activities for the various age groups. Assist with the children’s daily routine to ensure basic physical needs are established. 

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and skills:

• Develop and build open and collaborative relationships with the children and parents of the center
• Must be able to communicate effectively and execute assignments to children through verbal and/or written instructions along with strong Computer skills to facilitate online curriculum and assessments
• Desire to work with children and ability to respond in a patient, courteous, and cooperative manner to children, parents, and community is essential
• A High School diploma or equivalent with coursework towards Associate in Early Childhood Education is required
• Knowledge of VDSS Regulations for Licensed Child Care Center
• Experience with Photocopier, Audio visual equipment, washing machine and dryer and excellent telephone skills
• Ability to stand, sit, sit on floor, lift, bend, stoop, reach, push and pull
• Ability to lift 25 pounds without assistance, 26+ with manual or mechanical assistance
• Offers of employment are conditioned on applicants meeting requirements of a pre-employment drug screening and background check

 Shift(s): 

Part time and Full Time

Between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Monday-Friday
