Overview

Responsible for maintaining the hotel building, equipment and to ensure guestrooms are in complete working order along with public areas are free from unsightly blemishes.

Qualifications

High school graduate, with college/vocational training in electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, or the equivalent in related work experience.
Must have 4 or more years experience in a related field.
Must have knowledge of proper chemical handling techniques.
Must have knowledge of proper maintenance techniques, requirements, and use of equipment.
Strong mechanical aptitude and a working knowledge of electrical and plumbing systems.
Must be able to stand and work during entire shift.
Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, pushing, and pulling required.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Must have ability to operate various types of heavy maintenance equipment.
Must have ability to make independent decisions on a routine basis.
Must be detail oriented and possess excellent planning and organizational skills.
Must be able to work under time and quality pressures.
Must be able to speak and follow written instructions in English, bi‑lingual English and Spanish preferred.
Ability to work with guest and employees in a positive, productive and professional manner.
Ability to work nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs.
Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law.
Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law.

 

Responsibilities

Ensures that all public areas including hallways, pool area, video room, banquet spaces, stairways, public restrooms, public access and lobby areas are in good repair and mechanically sound.
Conducts preventative maintenance inspections as assigned and take corrective action as appropriate.
Follows up on all public area maintenance needs reported by hotel staff.
Conducts preventative maintenance on various types of equipment.
Makes routine repairs to hotel equipment.
Maintains building, performing minor and routine painting, plumbing, electrical wiring, and other related maintenance activities.
Communicates with supervisor regarding status of repairs, guestrooms, inventory levels, guest complaints, losses, and any unusual situations to maintain smooth operation.
Follows all department operational procedures.
Completes various forms and department paperwork.
Takes breaks and meal periods with posted schedule, Knott's Berry Farm, and California State policies.
Provides guest service according to Cedar Fair standards when serving the guest or working with subordinates, including initiating guest interactions, answering questions and giving directions.
Maintains cleanliness and safety in assigned work area and performs all duties in compliance with Cedar Fair Safety guidelines and requirements and reports all unsafe or unusual conditions to supervision.
Meets scheduling availability requirements, including nights, weekends, and holiday periods to meet business needs.
Meets Cedar Fair's attendance requirements as outlined in Cedar Fair's attendance policies.
Adheres to Cedar Fair's Rules of Conduct including specific costuming and grooming standards as outlined in Employee Guidelines and other park/division specific policies and procedures.
