PrideStaff is currently partnering with an oilfield services company in the Laurel, MS area to locate a Safety Manager for their operation. This person will be responsible for the following duties:
- Develop and execute health and safety plans in the workplace according to legal guidelines
- Prepare and enforce policies to establish a culture of health and safety
- Evaluate practices, procedures, and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law
- Conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters and accident prevention
- Monitor compliance to policies and laws by inspecting employees and operations
- Inspect equipment and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditions
- Investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes and handle worker’s compensation claims
- Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures
- Report on health and safety awareness, issues and statistics
- Overseeing all districts the company works from (Mississippi, Alabama, Texas, Louisiana). The candidate will work out of Laurel, but travel will be required between these three states
- Expand on all safety policies that the company currently has in place
- Manage safety reporting on various industry web portals
- 3-5 years of prior safety management experience, preferably in the oilfield
- This person will represent the company in customer meetings. They must know and be able to articulate the safety program and processes. -Good communication skills both written and verbal.
- Time management, prioritizing, multi-tasking -- fast-paced environment
- Must be a self-starter
- Multi-state DOT experience a plus. This position also manages the company's fleet across MS, AL, LA, and TX.
- Knowledge of HIPPA / treatment of confidential health information as it deals with drug and accident evaluations.
