Crisdel Group, Inc. is seeking a Grade Foreman to join our expanding Tampa Team.  The Grade Foreman will have supervision and responsibility for the job site field operations, including daily production, costs, safety, organization, and crew.

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Consult with the Project Superintendent to thoroughly review the plans, specifications, permits, borings and addenda for the project. 
  • Perform a site visit of the project to become familiar with the existing conditions, potential hazards and layout of the site.
  • Verify measurements, slope and thickness for compliance with contract plans and specifications, utilizing conventional and/or electronic grade and slope controls. 
  • Maintain accountability for the layout, placement, and compaction of materials. 
  • Establish and adjust work to meet construction schedule using knowledge of capacities of equipment and assigned personnel. 
  • Accountable for consulting with the Project Superintendent to ensure that project plans and schedules are being followed and that crews are performing the necessary activities to meet production goals. 
  • Coordinate material deliveries with suppliers and hauling vendors. 
  • Supervise the grade crew to include daily production, safety, on-boarding, and training of employees.
  • Manage the operation of the grading and/or excavation equipment to facilitate proper alignment, movement and/or compaction of materials to specified elevations and/or compaction requirements.
  • Make adjustments, as required, to ensure proper execution of assigned construction tasks.
  • Monitor quality control on a daily basis.
  • Ensure that harmony is maintained between Crisdel Group, Inc.’s workforce, subcontractors, and the owners or their agents.
  • Participate in health and safety training, trade specific technical training and management training to grow as an employee and individual. 
  • Ensure that all soil erosion control measures and maintenance of traffic devices are installed as per plan and are maintained on a daily basis.
  • At the end of each shift, ensure that all equipment is cleaned and staged, tools are secure, materials are properly stored, and the project site is clean of garbage and debris. 
  • Consult with Health and Safety Manager to ensure that all of your training is updated.
  • Ensure that all employees and sub-contractors are performing construction in a safe manor, in accordance with Crisdel Group, Inc.’s Safety Program & OSHA Regulations.
  • Develop and maintain “good practices” site specific safety procedures for the work that is being performed.  This includes, but is not limited to, task hazard analysis, internal traffic control procedures, designated break area locations, material handling plans, safe pedestrian access, etc.
  • Check equipment to ensure that all equipment, trucks and vehicles are in proper working condition and safe to operate.
  • Ensure that any employee that is driving a company vehicle has been previously authorized.
  • Ensure that daily huddles, weekly tool box talks, job hazard analysis (JHA) and Internal Traffic Control Plans (ITCP) are recorded, as required, in HCSS Safety Application.
  • Ensure that the site is left free of hazards at the end of each day.
  • Prepare daily timecards and field diaries utilizing iPad tablet. 
  • Assist Project Superintendent with cost control. 


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in site work and/or road construction.
  • Must be able to operate a Dozer.  (Ability to Operate a Motor Grader a plus.)
  • Must be able to read blue prints, specifications and plans and calculate job site materials and trucking to maintain budget and job efficiency.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to work as a team to efficiently complete jobs to the highest customer satisfaction.
  • Must be able to speak, read and write in English.
  • Effective Leadership skills.
  • Valid driver’s license issued within the United States clear of multiple and/or major violations.
  • Successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen, a motor vehicle records check and a criminal background check.
  • In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification document form upon hire.High school diploma required
  • Experience with HeavyBid, HeavyJob, or ProCore a plus
