R&D Chemist - Part-time

Every day, Kelly Scientific Resources connects scientific professionals with opportunities to advance their careers, and we currently have a direct hire opening for a Research and Development Chemist in Port Huron, MI. 

Responsibilities:

• Identifying any all customer needs that are not being met – use that knowledge to design a product solution that meets those needs
• Work with Marketing and Product Management group – explore and document new product opportunities
• Develop product design using extensive lab and pilot facilities – work with operations group to translate the design into a commercially viable process
• Follows new products into the field, works with Technical Service and Sales
• Assigns, oversees and reviews the experimental work performed by team members
• Writes reports and memos with executive summaries
• Will be managing 2-3 projects at a time with applying hands on benchwork.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a Science or Engineering discipline
• 3-5 years R&D background
• Adhesive industry experience preferred
• Must have good project management skills
• Innovative, organized self-starter with good problem-solving skills
• Collaborative interpersonal style
• Knowledge of DOE principles and statistical analysis software
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Demonstrated customer focus
