# # Job Summary:#The Telecommunication Operator position has several primary responsibilities, including critical roles with emergency management, alarm response, and facilitating communications within Pinnacle and with external customers.#The Operators serve as the initial point of contact for emergency procedures across all Pinnacle hospitals, taking accurate and complete information and conveying it in a timely manner through use of the overhead paging system and back up notifications. Operations also monitors and responds appropriately to multiple alarm systems including#all fire notification panels for each campus, medical gas alarms, medical freezer alarms, generator alarms, seven Telecommunication switch room, PBX and power system#alarms, participating in the NXT notification process when needed. The Operators also provide external and internal customers with a positive first impression by promptly greeting them telephonically and then assisting them to find the appropriate personnel, departments, services or patient information.#The Operator position will provide answering services for PinnacleHealth entities (including, but not limited to: (Specialty clinics and Affiliate Nursing Homes, etc.) Answering service functions will require greeting all PHS patients promptly, taking accurate and complete messages, and then following the contact protocol established for each entity, as defined in the answering service agreement (e.g. contacting the physician on-call and relaying the information for the patient.#The Operator will also provide answering service for the HealthCare provider line transferring urgent calls from Healthcare Providers, Pharmacies and Facilities to the backdoor lines and announcing the calls.#The Operator will promptly respond to customer requests logged in the IT Service Desk system and will assist customers entering the operator suite in a professional manner. Other duties include answering and responding to requests for assistance with mobile phone and pager requests, troubleshooting and replacing/ordering new equipment. # # Job Requirements:#High School graduate or equivalent. General knowledge of working with computer is required.#Must be able to speak, read, and write the English language in an understandable manner. # # Preferred Qualifications:#Three to six months work experience in a large, complex switchboard environment is preferred.#One to three years of customer service experience is preferred.
