JOB DESCRIPTION:
The shipper position will be responsible to perform a variety of duties in the warehouse function necessary for shipping orders to customers. Accuracy is required in terms of correct counts. Receive ship sets in batch, record locations, and pull orders when necessary. Print ship sets on line for all new items coming from packing. Compile all paperwork necessary to complete a shipping order including specifications and certifications. Record items to proper queue while waiting certs. Coordinate critical items, additions and corrections to orders and shipping directions with Production Planning and Inside Sales to ensure shipment on a timely basis. Review shippable quantity report and make proper transactions to set up queues for certs, government, source and mover to appropriate area. Prepare carton bar code labels per customer specifications. Check label, pieces, pack method, order quantities and shipping paper for accuracy and quality. Prepare for shipment insuring items have proper labels, size, quantity and dates. Exercise judgement to insure proper carton weights and selection based upon mode of shipment and customer requirements. Make proper transactions to issue and bill the proper customer line items and to record inventory changes. Prepare paperwork for bill of ladings. Prepare transactions for shortages and no-stock items. Ship via proper routing per Order Processing - air, RPS, UPS or truck. Process shipments using UPS on-line shipping platform and prepare paperwork for bill of lading for known routing. Mark shipping papers with detail and attach bill of lading when required.
PRE-REQUISITES: The incumbent must have the ability to perform all essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations. Must have demonstrated proficiencies in skills and essential functions required for a Warehouse Person C position and presently operate or have ability to operate listed machines and equipment with routine training and follow written and verbal instructions.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
Advanced communication skills such as training other employees, posting, preparing, interpreting, using and checking reports, records and comparable data
Arithmetic such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, including decimals and fractions, simple use of formulas, charts, tables, drawings, specifications and schedules
Repetitive work requiring constant alertness or activity
Follows general instructions and standard methods and procedures
