Restorative Nursing Aide

JOB SUMMARY:

This role will assist patients with transfers, walking, strength training and range of motion exercises, documenting service and changes in the patient's conditions, assisting patients with dressing or grooming, applying and monitoring splinting and helping with amputation and prosthesis care.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Properly applies Restorative Care Therapeutic procedures under the supervision of a Licensed Nurse. Treatments may include but are not limited to Range of Motion, Hand Care, Ambulation, Balance / Coordination Training, Transfer Training, Application / Maintenance of Splints, Oral Motor Activities, Cognitive Remediation, and Activities of Daily Living.
• Accompanies residents to and from restorative treatment and documents residents' restorative status via scheduled care tasks.
• Observes and reports any decline or improvement in residents' behavior and / or condition to the supervising Licensed Nurse. Requests proper screening as needed.
• Assists residents to meet daily needs while providing a safe environment and ensuring the dignity and wellbeing of residents.
• Assists residents in becoming more accustomed to facility's routines and encourages them to participate in social and recreational activities to promote rehabilitation.
• Answers call lights, bells, or intercom system within 5 minutes to determine residents' needs.
• Bathes, dresses, and undresses residents, and assists with other tasks including, but not limited to, shaving, nails, hair, etc.
• Serves and collects food trays and assists with feeding residents requiring help.
• Gives direct resident care that falls within the CNA job description.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Certified as a nursing assistant in WV
• Maintains current CPR certification
• Attends informational meetings and continuing education sessions as required
